The adage that a picture is worth a thousand words is as oldas man himself. Since the very beginning of human endeavor and long before man first scratched his name in the dirt, he recorded his world to us with pictures.
The dawn of civilization saw man create more complex and descriptive pictures that would develop into hieroglyphics and pictograms. Illustrations were now becoming a language for the eyes as man learned to read.
Early scientists and tradesmen found illustrations an accurate way to create ideas, record concepts and yes even represent wealth. A picture is worth a thousand words is more than an adage, it's an historical fact.
