Rescue At LZ Albany

After interviewing many of the participants of the battle of LZ Albany, noted artist Paul Tuttle created the painting titled Rescue at LZ Albany. His work captures both artistic and historic accuracy of the battle at LZ Albany. The painting is a fitting tribute to the brave men of the 2nd Battalion 7th Cavalry, their comrades of A Company, 1st Battalion 5th Cavalry and to the heroic flight crews of the 229th (AHB), who flew mission after mission from the night of November 16 through the early morning hours of November 17, 1965, evacuating the wounded and bringing in much needed ammunition.

There were 50 Commemorative Veterans day 2007 numbered and signed prints made available by artist Paul Tuttle for the Pleiku Brotherhood Banquet. Prints 01 and 02 were presented to our honored guest speakers General Kinnard and General Meyer. The remaining 48 Commemorative prints found good homes amongst the Veterans and families of the of the battle of LZ Albany. The original painting of Rescue at LZ Albany is being donated to the new Infantry Museum at Ft Benning Georgia and will be part of the Ia Drang Valley Battle Display.
