Since the Civil War baseball has been America's past-time and passion. American author Jacques Barzone wrote "Whoever wants to know the heart and mind of Americans better learn baseball".

Since it's founding in 1901, minor league baseball has been a true grass roots success story. There are over 250 teams nationwide that bring the game home to millions of Americans.


 Basketball / NBA
It all began on December 1, 1891, when James Naismeth an instructor at a YMCA training school decide to create an indoor game for his students. His idea was to create a game of skill and coordination that could be played indoors during the winter months. He hung a box from the balcony at each end of the gymnasium with the point of the game being to move the ball down the gym floor and place the ball in the opposing teams basket. It was a slow game because after a team scored the janitor would have to set up a ladder and remove the ball from the basket so the game could continue. The ladder was a very important part of early basketball.


 Bowling
Moore Americans go bowling than attend baseball games. As America's most popular indoor sport, people of all ages and skill levels bowl year round.


 College Athletics - NCAA
To initiate, stimulate and improve inter-collegiate athletic programs for student athletes and to promote and develop educational leadership, physical fitness, athletics and participation.


 Fishing
The act of fishing is as old as man himself. Fishing is mentioned in the Bible as well as early Persia, Egyptian and Chinese writings. Fishing has been a major means of substance and livelyhood throughout history. Plus, it's fun!


 Football / NFL
Variations of modern football have been played by all ancient civilizations. The need for one team to carry, kick and push a ball past an opposing team seems to be as old as man himself.


 Golf / LPGA
The LPGA is the longest running women's sports association in the world, having celebrated it's 50th anniversary in the year 2000.


 Golf / PGA
Founded in 1901, the PGA is very conscious of its position as a leader in the golfing world. The PGA is synonymous with honesty, integrity, fair dealing and courtesy.


 Hockey / NHL
It all started on March 18, 1892 at a dinner of the Ottowa Amateur Athletic Association. Lord Kilcourse, a player on the Ottowa Rebel's Hockey Club proposed creating a challenge cup competition. Thus was born the Stanly Cup and modern hockey.


 Horse Racing
Called "The sport of kings" modern horse racing was established by King Charles II of England. Horse racing is one of the oldest and most universal of all spectator sports.


 National Directory of College Athletics
Commonly called, "the yellow pages of college sports", the National Directory is the world's most popular colelge sports directory.


 Olympics
The Olympic Games are a shining example for so many things that are good in our world.  Peace, harmony and unity are words that go hand in hand with the ideals of the olympic movement.


 Rodeo
The sport of rodeo is an exciting combination of contests and exhibitions. The skills developed by the early cowboys live on in the rodeo tradition.


 Running
Originally called the American Jogging Association. The American Running Association was founded in 1968 by Lt. General Richard L Bohannon M.D., former Surgeon General of the U.S. Air force.


 Sailing
The U.S. Sailing mission is to encourage participation and promote excellence in sailing and racing in the United States.


 Soccer
The mission of the U.S. Soccere Federation has been simple and very clear: to make soccer, in all it's forms, a preeminent sport in the United States and to continue the development of soccer at all levels.


 Tennis
The official centenial of modern tennis was 1973 and it commemerated the publication of the first Official Book of Rules published in 1873. Games similar to tennis have been played for over 1000 years.
